During Stingray’s refit in 2012 it was fitted with two new Mariner Optimax 90hp engines. In 2018 the engines were swapped out for a pair of new 90hp Parsun engines.
It was also fitted with a combined side imaging/plotter/sounder unit as well as a backup plotter/sounder and a separate GPS. This has since been replaced with the latest technology combined unit. A new DSC VHF with a built-in GPS unit replaced the old unit and even the new hand held VHF has a built in GPS.

As part of the MCA’s commercial coding it is fitted with a 12 person life-raft, and carries fourteen life jackets, an offshore first aid kit, two hand held flares, two parachute flares and two orange smoke signals.
